Starting a new character

So, you've caught on with the adventurous MMO of runescape? Well, playing runescape isn't all that much of fun n' games. Runescape is tough work and to master all of runescape, you will need to take some time off your belt to play the game of a lifetime.

You may be wondering, why do people have so many accounts. Well, first of all, runescape is a tough game, and you may not get the hang of it so suddenly. You might pick out one very stupid name when you first play and you realize, "hey, I don't want to go into battle with that name!" So you decide to build another account. Other reasons include mastering most of the game, making an account for fun, an account to do "bad things." I don't suggest doing the last one.

Well anyway, head on over to http://www.runescape.com and click on the big button that says "create account." Agree to all terms and conditions (remember to read them), and create the name for your account. Remember that no profanity should be included the name whatsoever.

After you have created an account, click on "play runescape" (which should come up after you've created your account), and select what your character would look like when being plain and ol'. I know, it seems a drag to be only human, but you can't be orc, dwarf, elf, etc, etc, etc. When you are done selecting what your plain and ol' character will look like, press accept.

There is a tutorial after you've created your runescape character that you shall complete in order to pass onto the mainland. If you would like, you can take some time in the tutorial to train all of your skills to the level 3, as you can do that.

When you are at the fishing part of the tutorial, take some time to cut as many logs as possible in order for you to advance your woodcutting and firemaking to 3. Then, fish up shrimps to level 3 and cook them until level 3. You can then move on to the next parts of the tutorial.

So I guess you've got it. Train every skill that is mentioned in the tutorial to 3, and you'll be on your way to the mainland in a great start.

Once you get off of tutorial island, I suggest that you talk to the lumbridge guide if you are a new player. Otherwise, head west until you reach the town of Draynor Village, where you will spend most of your time as a newbie. At Draynor Village, bank all of your items except your axe. Once you have done that, head to an area with lots of trees, and start cutting them. Once your inventory is full, bank them. Continue this process until level 21 woodcutting. It's nice to see that after you cut 200 logs, you can sell them for 30-50 gp ea and make 6000-10000 gp!
NOTE: 1000 IS KNOWN AS "K", WHICH I WILL BE USING THROUGHOUT THE REST OF THE BLOG

The 6k-10k you have just made is very valuable to a new player and you can now use that money to buy some combat equipment, etc!
